The POF-ALL Consortium is made up of nine organizations chosen
for their complementary skills and competences, necessary to
carry out the foreseen project activities, as shown in the table
below.
We believe that the Consortium properly mixes several different
competencies:
- A very specific knowledge on POF systems, components, applications
and market, thanks to the presence of two SMEs completely
focused on POF (Luceat and DieMount). Both companies completely
based their industrial business plan on POF;
- A
large company (STM) with a long expertise in optoelectronic
systems and, for the group involved in POF-ALL, particularly on
optoelectronic components (Italian side) and consumer
electronics (France side);
- A
technology end-user, i.e., the national alternative carrier
Fastweb, one of the few FTTH carrier in Europe
- A
large background on fundamental and basic research, due to its
five research-oriented organizations. Two of them are non-profit
research centers (ISMB and FHG), while three of them are
Universities (POFAC, DUI and TUE). One of them (POFAC) is
actually a competence center totally dedicated to POF research
and consulting;
