General description, expertise and role in the project |
DieMount GmbH was founded in September 2001. The
technology-based startup company developed a novel
technology for high precision and high efficient fiber
chip coupling especially suitable for fibre optical
transceiver modules. In addition, the company offers low
excess loss and low cross talk POF fibre splitters for
simplex data transmission. Basing on these two core
technologies, DieMount GmbH fabricates and markets POF
transceivers, POF media converter modules and POF
systems.
The
total number of person-months dedicated to the POF-ALL
project is 18. |
|
Facilities |
DieMount is provided with an about 100 sqm clean room
for optical component production and optical and
electronic test equipment for development and quality
control. Die- and wirebonding is done in collaboration
with a supplier at the same site. |

CV partner reference person |
Dr.-Ing. Hans Kragl (48) received the Dipl.-Ing. degree
in 1983 from the University of Karlsruhe and the
Dr.-Ing. degree in 1988 from the Technical University of
Munich, both in electrical engineering. From 1984 to
1990 he was a Research and Teaching Assistant with the
Lehrstuhl für Technische Elektrophysik at the Technical
University of Munich. Then, as employee of a
telecommunication company he was engaged in R&D of low
cost optical glas fiber modules. Between 1992 and 1995
he led as project manager the EU-funded RACE II project
„POPCORN“ with the objective to develop a novel
technology for the fabrication of integrated optical
components by low cost moulding techniques. In July,
1998 he sourced out the results of this technology to a
new founded company, HARTING Elektro-optische Bauteile
GmbH&Co. KG. In September, 2001 he founded again a new
startup company, DieMount GmbH. At present he holds 100%
shares at DieMount GmbH. |
